Importing saffron from Iran is straightforward when terms, documents and freight are agreed in advance. This guide explains the typical steps for a wholesale order.
Choose your Incoterm
EXW and FOB give you control of freight, CFR and CIF include freight to your port, and DDP delivers to your warehouse with duties paid. First-time buyers often prefer CIF or DDP because they are simpler to manage.
Documents to expect
- Commercial invoice and packing list
- Certificate of analysis (ISO 3632)
- Certificate of origin
- Phytosanitary certificate where your country requires it
Air or sea freight
Saffron has a very high value-to-weight ratio, so most orders move by air in a few days. Large bulk orders can travel by sea, which takes several weeks but costs less per kilogram.
Before you order
Confirm the import rules, labeling requirements and any trade-compliance or payment requirements that apply in your country. A supplier who is open about documents and timing makes this much easier.
Golden Saffron prepares the export documents for every lot and ships under EXW, FOB, CFR, CIF or DDP terms. Tell us your destination and preferred Incoterm to receive a formal quotation.
